Tampa, Florida - While the Republican National Convention will bring a number of famous politicians to Tampa in August, the event is also expected to draw a number of Hollywood stars and musicians to town as well.

Tampa Bay Host Committee CEO Ken Jones says the 2008 GOP convention proved not all Hollywood stars are Democrats.

"I think we had some musicians that were there and some rappers and some Hollywood types. So yeah, we have our share of those types too, it's not just the other side of the aisle," Jones said.

Among those who attended the 2008 convention were actors Robert Downey Jr. and Fred Thompson, who also once ran for president.

"A national presidential nominating convention brings a lot of different faces to town and we expect people like Trace Adkins as a possibility, Gene Simmons, Kid Rock, Cindy Crawford; all those folks have shown up in the past, have done things in the political sphere and we expect that many of them... will join this time," Republican National Convention Communications Director James Davis told 10 News.

Other Hollywood stars who are either Republicans or have supported conservative candidates before and could show up in Tampa later this summer include actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, his action hero friends Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris and "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson. Actors Clint Eastwood, Jon Voight, Kevin Costner, Dean Cain and Kelsey Grammer are also possibilities.

A number of musicians that have supported Republican candidates who could appear at the convention include Kid Rock, Trace Adkins and Gene Simmons as Davis mentioned, but also Ted Nugent, L.L. Cool J and 50 Cent.

The convention is scheduled to begin August 27th.
