FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - The Lee County Sheriff's Office has identified the man killed in a southwest Florida house fire.
Deputies say the remains of 31-year-old Joseph Frederick Waddell were found in the rubble after the blaze was extinguished.
Firefighters found the house fully engulfed in flames Saturday morning in Fort Myers. Three occupants were able to escape but told rescuers one person was still inside.
Attempts to rescue Waddell were called off when the ceiling collapsed.
Authorities believe the fire was accidental but are still investigating Waddell's cause of death.
