Nathan Peltz died of his injuries from July 4 accident, passenger in other vehicle fled scene

High Point, Florida -- The FHP says a Spring Hill man involved in a head-on collision on July 4 has died of his injuries at Bayonet Point Medical Center.

The FHP says Nathan Peltz, 85, was driving in the wrong direction on Cortez Boulevard just east of High Point Boulevard at the time of the crash. His wife, Diane, is in serious condition at Bayonet Point.

The couple was in a Buick Verano when they crashed into a Ford F150. The driver of the truck, 33-year-old Eric Hooper, and his passenger, 33-year-old Christina Coffey, are in serious condition at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Troopers say an unknown female passenger in the truck fled the scene. Anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to call Trooper Michael Meier with the Florida Highway Patrol at 352-754-6767 ext 155.
