Bradenton Beach, Florida - The mother of a young woman, found dead three years ago in a hotel room, wants the FBI to step in, in her death investigation.
Kelly Osborn, along with a number of family members and friends, showed up at the Bradenton Beach City Commission meeting Thursday to ask them to invite the FBI into the investigation.
The mother also wants disciplinary action taken against members of the Bradenton Beach Police Department.
Her daughter, Sheena Morris, was found hanging in a hotel room shower stall, hours after fighting with her boyfriend.
Her death was first ruled a suicide, but was later changed to undetermined. Just recently authorities with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said they will be appointing a panel of experts to look into the case.
Osborn believes the Bradenton Beach Police Department bungled the investigation. She has been fighting for the case to be re-opened for years.
The Bradenton Beach Police Chief has said he believes they did everything they could in the investigation. And he welcomes assistance from the state.
No word on when the mayor and commissioners will make a decision.
