OAKLAND PARK, Florida (CBS12) -- A radio listener whose classical music bliss was obliterated by foul language and rap music helped police capture a pirate radio DJ.

Broward Sheriff's Office reports Romayne Davis, 32, of Lauderdale Lakes operated a pirate radio station using a laptop running iTunes to broadcast a pirate radio signal that blocked classical music station 89.7 FM since March 2012.

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from a listener of WKCP Classical South Florida. The listener reported the station's airwaves were blaring with the sounds of rap music and "vulgar speech and lyrics."

Investigators got the illicit broadcast's address and served a search warrant in mid-July. Detectives recovered a computer, transmitter and other radio broadcasting equipment. Davis had been renting the warehouse and broadcasting his signal from 89.5 FM.

BSO reports Davis, who operates Joker Boy Entertainment, turned himself in Wednesday on one count of unauthorized transmission/interference with a public radio station. He has since been released on bond.
