BRADENTON, Florida -- A woman has been arrested after deputies say she struck a patrol car while driving drunk.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was traveling north on 14th Street when 62-year-old Rhonda Mackin moved into his lane without using a turn signal and struck the rear of his patrol car. The deputy's car spun out, while Mackin's car overturned, coming to a stop upside down.
The deputy was able to get out of his patrol car and cut Mackin out of her vehicle.
The sheriff's office says a DUI investigation was conducted and Mackin was arrested. She was also cited for careless driving.
Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
