TAMPA, Florida -- Two Hillsborough County school buses stolen from Miles Elementary School earlier this week have been spotted in Marion and Pasco counties.

The buses may still be mobile, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Detectives are asking the public to be vigilant for any abandoned Hillsborough County school bus parked in unusual locations or being used in a suspicious manner.

The sheriff's office has notified the Department of Homeland Security about the stolen buses, but said there's no reason to believe the theft is related to the upcoming Republican National Convention.

Anyone with any information reference the whereabouts of the buses is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200. Anyone with any information regarding the theft and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477, report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com, or text "CSTB plus your tip" to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
