Tampa, Florida-- Even though the forecast track shows Tropical Storm Isaac moving further west into the Gulf, Isaac is already crashing the party.
Several big events are planned, but the threat of a storm is already more than some people are willing to face.
Big luxury yachts from South Florida, initially expected to host lavish, high-dollar parties, have already cancelled their trips.
One Miami political consultant tweeted, "ISAAC HAPPENS. Palm Beach, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale mega yachts have cancelled trips to Tampa to host mega fundraisers. High dollar events off."
Even Vice President Joe Biden may cancel his planned campaign stop in Tampa on Monday. A release from his office said, "Additional details and media logistics for the Vice President's trip are forthcoming and subject to change due to weather conditions."
The Ron Paul Fest scheduled for this weekend at the Florida Fairgrounds is expecting more than 5,000 people to attend. Add a severe storm to the equation, and we could have a dangerous situation. So far, though, the festival is still on.
And down in Sarasota, Donald Trump is being honored by the GOP as statesman of the year. Isaac could interrupt the soiree, but the head of the Sarasota Republican Party told 10 News, "Donald Trump is bigger than any hurricane, and the event will continue as planned. We have more than 1,000 people joining us for the award ceremony, and we are not going to be moving the dinner."
