Tampa, Fl - Jesuit was looking to spoil Robinson head coach Mike DePue's final regular season appearance at Alumni Field, but the Knights were not to be denied.
The Knight's (3-0, 2-0) scored two touchdowns early in the first quarter, and never looked back, easily defeating the Tigers 31-10, and taking early control of the district.
On Robinson's first possession, sophomore Michael Duclos scored on a 41-yard run, and less then three minutes later, senior Martin Ruiz went up the middle for a 16-yard score.
In the second quarter, the Knights continued their scoring ways. Brandon Peters returned an interception 70-yards for a score, and quarterback Zain Gilmore hit Jahrvis Davenport for a 44-yard touchdown, giving the Knights' a 28-3 halftime lead.
With only 15 seconds remaining in the game, Jesuit (1-1, 1-2) finally got into the endzone when quarterback D.J. Diaz connected with Cameron Dillion for a 13-yard TD.
For the past three years, the winner of this game has gone on to win the Class 5A-8 District title, with the loser claiming the runnerup spot.
Next week district play continues for both teams, with Robinson hosting Lennard and Jesuit hosting Blake.
