Teneirfe, Spain (Sports Network) - Stacy Keating of Australia birdied the
first playoff hole Sunday to defeat Caroline Masson and win the Open de
Espana.
The victory was Keating's first on the Ladies European Tour.
Masson, the third-round leader, fell into a tie with Keating after a bogey at
the 17th. The pair both parred the last and headed back to No. 18 for the
playoff.
There Keating poured in a 5-foot birdie putt to secure her first title on
tour.
Keating carded a 2-under 70 on Sunday, while Masson only managed a 1-under 71.
The pair finished regulation tied at 9-under-par 279 at Las Americas Golf
Course.
Trish Johnson carded a 5-under 67 and took third at minus-8.
Nikki Garrett had a 2-under 70 to finish at 7-under 281, which was good enough
for fourth place.
