UNION, Fla. (AP) - More corrections officers have been put on administrative leave as state officials investigate allegations of excessive use of force at a north Florida prison.
Officials with the Department of Corrections said Monday that five more officers have been put on leave with pay, raising the total under investigation to 11 officers.
The Department of Corrections says a criminal investigation is under way.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is looking into the death last month at Union Correctional Institution in Raiford. They are also investigating excessive use of force cases involving five other inmates.
