Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County detectives are searching for 43-year-old Christopher Belcher who is wanted in connection with the murder of his wife Gwendolyn.
Gwendolyn's skeletal remains were found in a burned car on Sept. 17, one day after she was reported missing by her family.
During the investigation into her death, detectives learned she and her husband, Christopher, had gotten into a fight after he came home from a birthday party Saturday night and he slapped her in the face.
Once deputies learned of this incident, they arrested Christopher for domestic violence around 3 o'clock on the morning of Sept. 17. His bond had been set at a million dollars, but the state attorney's office dropped the charge, saying they just didn't have enough evidence to hold him.
