Dade City, Fl - It was the 55th meeting of what is called the 9-Mile War, with the Pasco Pirates running past the Zephyrhills Bulldogs 56-17, winning the Class 5A-District 6 title.
Actually it was the third week of the Janarion Grant show. Grant scored five touchdowns in the game and now has 11 in the three games since his return from a preseason injury.
Grant put Pasco (9-0, 7-0) on the board on their first play from scrimmage, with a dazling 29-yard touchdown.
On their next possession, it was Janarion Grant being Janarian Grant, spinning, juking, and sliding his way for 63-yards, getting into the endzone with another highlight reel score. Grant would add two more rushing scores, 7 and 10 yards, along with returing the 2nd half opening kickoff 78-yards for a TD.
The loss for Zephyrhills (5-4, 5-2), coupled with wins for Fivay (6-3, 5-2) and Anclote (5-4, 5-2), sets up a three-way tiebreaker for the district runner-up spot, which will be played at Fivay this Monday.
