Lee County, FL-- It's a disturbing story from southwest Florida; Investigators in Lee County currently search for the person who hanged a dog from a tree.
The dog, a medium-sized, gray terrier mix, was discovered yesterday. It was reportedly hanging lifeless from an oak tree by its leash and a nylon rope.
"It was just hanging there and it looked like it had struggled 'cause there were bushes wrapped around it, and vines," said Dakota Matsumoto who found the dog.
Authorities fear the suspect could be a threat to others, even people.
"Obviously, someone that's capable of doing this to an animal is pretty much capable of doing it to any living being who's out there," said Glenn johnson, Lee Co. Animal Services.
If they catch the person who did it--the killer would face felony charges and possibly a $10,000 fine.
