Dade City, Fl - In the Class 5A region semifinal game against the Gainesville Eastside Rams, the Pasco Pirates offense did what they've done all season, score early and often.
On the game's second play from scrimmage, David Emmanuel burst up the middle for a 53-yard touchdown.
The Pasco's defense also did what they do best, keep teams out of the endzone and create turnovers.
On the Rams opening possession, Brandon Ray intercepted a Sir Jackson pass, setting up the first of Janarian Grant's three rushing scores.
Altogether, Pasco ran for six scores, with Emmanuel scoring in the third quarter on a seven yard run and Malik Johns romping 95 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback Benjamin Chandler added a touchdown pass, connecting with J. D. Edward for 17 yards.
The shutout was the seventh of the season for the Pirates, who also recorded seven takeaways, saying no sir, to Rams quarterback Sir Jackson. The Pirates limited Jackson to only five yards rushing and picked off five Jackson passes.
Pasco (12-0) advances to the region final and will face the Robinson Knights (11-1) at Robinson, in Tampa.
