Some of the big holiday mail deadlines are still several days away, but time is running out.
Monday, Dec. 10 is the busiest day for FedEx, which estimates it will process 19 million shipments, twice its daily norm. More people are sending mail via FedEx, with an estimated 10 percent increase this holiday season. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, FedEx says it expects to process 280 million shipments.
The US Postal Service is also expecting an increase in mail this holiday season, with an estimated 20 percent bump projected this year. USPS says it expects to process 365 million packages. Monday, Dec. 17 is expected to be the USPS's busiest day for cards and packages.
