Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano
There is plenty of blame to go around for the Bucs three game losing streak. This morning, Greg Schiano said to his team," You have to fight your way out of the corner." This Sunday the Saints could deliver the knockout blow to the Buccaneers playoff hopes.
"One thing about this team, I don't see anyone who will duck from blame that's not the issue," said Bucs' head coach Greg Schiano. "It's sick were not winning, sick we've lost three in a row, that's more the issue."
Over the losing streak Josh Freeman has yet to turn in a 20 completion performance and in the last second loss to the Eagles he completed his lowest percentage of passes of the season. Even with the see- saw performance Freeman had the Bucs overcome a ten point deficit in the second half. At one point Tampa Bay held a 21-10 lead.
"If it(Freeman) was a stock it would be upwardly trending for sure," said Schiano. "I know people say what have you done for me lately business, it wasn't good enough, I know he would tell you that."
Last time out against New Orleans, Freeman turned in his best performance of the season firing for 420 yards in week 7 at Raymond James Stadium.
"The entire year he's been a bit of a rollercoaster and it continues to move onward and upward," said Bucs' offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan. "How poorly he's playing and then there's been a good stretch, but I don't think there has been any absolutes' it's a process that's on going."
One of the major on-going problems for the Bucs' has been their play in the secondary. It ranks last in the NFL and this week Drew Brees and the league's second rated passing attack could have a field day unless Tampa Bay steps up its' game.
"When you have a great quarterback like that they always have something new, he's a great quarterback and a great leader," said cornerback EJ Biggers. "We just have to go out and execute our game plan and everything will just work itself out."
A win on Sunday will snap the Bucs' losing streak, but they'll need plenty of help in the final three weeks to make the post season.
