Polk Co., FL-- A child pornography and sexual offender registration sting landed 41 people behind bars in Polk County, the sheriff's office announced Thursday.
According to reports, the investigation focused on those who download and distribute child pornography, and those who fail to maintain their state-mandated sexual offender or predator registration, and it lasted from June to December of 2012.
"We are committed to protecting our children, and we are very passionate about ensuring that those who prey on children are held accountable. If you download or distribute child pornography - you are contributing to the victimization of children, and you go to jail," said Sheriff Grady Judd. "We monitor every sexual predator and offender registered in Polk County. If you fail to comply with the registration requirements, you go to jail. "
The following suspects were arrested for Possession or Distribution of Child Pornography, Victimization of a Child, or for otherwise violating their terms of probation for previous child pornography charges:
