Immokalee, Florida (News-Press) -- Investigators are trying to figure out how 2-year-old Denise Hernandez ended up in a field down the street from her home, 10 hours after she was reported missing.

The girl does not appear to be injured, according to Krista Williamson, Collier County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman. Medical personnel are evaluating her, and Williamson said she didn't know if Hernandez would be taken to the hospital.

Investigators have been treating the case as an abduction, and have found no new evidence indicating the girl got out of her house on her own. A window in the girl's bedroom was found open Sunday night, but it is not clear if the window was left open by her parents when they put her to bed.

Williamson could not say whether Hernandez was alone when she was found.

A statewide Amber Alert issued on the case has been canceled.

Hernandez was reported missing around 11:30 p.m. after her family said they put her to bed at their home in the 400 block of Well Street.

Dozens of law enforcement officers from agencies around Southwest Florida joined deputies in the search.
