SARASOTA, Florida -- Four people are under arrest after police officers attempted to control a crowd of approximately 100 people early Sunday morning.
The incident started when the officers noticed two men urinating in public.
An officer was punched while trying restrain a prisoner, and another was pushed, according to the Sarasota Police Department. An officer also reportedly struck one man, Jarred Harington, with a flashlight.
Harington was arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, and resisting arrest without violence. He was treated at Sarasota Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail.
Two other men, Demond Smith and Devontae Williams, were arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer. A fourth man, Jaymes Smith, was arrested for urinating in public and resisting arrest without violence.
