Tampa, Florida -- It's a labor of love for a Hillsborough County Animal Services volunteer.
Troy Wright washed his 1,000th dog at the shelter Monday. While he's volunteered there for the past five years, back in April, he started coming in at the crack of dawn six days of week to scrub the pooches, like Louie the Shih Tzu, before they are spayed or neutered and go to their forever homes.
The Retired U.S. Air Force Gulf War Veteran says for many of the animals this is their first wash ever, but he's been fortunate so far with no dog bites.
Wright also has three Labrador Retrievers at home.
