Tampa, Florida -- Several weeks after a jury convicted her, a federal judge ruled in agreement and found Cortnee Brantley guilty for her part in the deaths of two Tampa Police officers.
A jury originally found Brantley guilty back in January, but U.S. District Court Judge James Moody reserved his ruling, pending motions.
On Wednesday, Judge Moody formally adjudicated the jury's ruling, saying the verdict "by the thinnest of legal threads ... is supported by the evidence."
Brantley faces up to three years in prison.
Brantley's boyfriend, Dontae Morris, is charged with killing Officers
David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab during a traffic stop in June 2010.
Morris was riding with Brantley, who was pulled over for not having a
license plate.
Prosecutors say she never alerted the officers that Morris was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. She then fled the scene after the shooting.
Brantley's previous trial ended in a hung jury, and she was being
retried on a misprision charge.
Morris is in custody, awaiting trial on murder charges.
