TAMPA, Florida -- The annual Krewe of the Knights of Sant' Yago illuminated Knight Parade in Ybor City brings together a large, lively, and diverse group of people to party in the streets.
On Saturday, Feb. 9, after the annual Knight Parade ended, a fight and gunfire erupted in the crowd.
According to Tampa Police, at approximately 10:13 p.m. in what is believed to be in the area of 16th Street and East 7th Avenue, a fight broke out between two groups of people. During the altercation, someone fired a hand gun, hitting 24-year-old Camile Prince in the back of the upper left thigh.
There is no indication that Prince was the target of the shooting and it is believed she was struck by a stray bullet.
Prince was taken to Tampa General Hospital for treatment and evaluation of non-life threatening injuries.
