Tampa, Florida -- Delivery drivers still come and go from a downtown Tampa Domino's Pizza, but you've got to think they're shaken by Sunday's shooting. And while no one at the Tampa Street store would talk to 10 News, the franchise is now offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to arrests.
Police are still looking for the two men who robbed and shot a deliveryman in the stomach outside the Vintage Loft Apartments. Daniel Pawelkop, 29, had finished dropping off the pizza when the men confronted him. They took his wallet and cell phone and then shot him in the stomach.
On Thursday, staff members in the Tampa Police Department's communication department were busy using social media to spread the word about the cash.
"We always say there are no secrets; someone's always talking," says Police spokesperson Andrea Davis. "We hope perhaps the money will convince people to come forward."
So far no big tips, but from Facebook comments you can tell that people are upset about this crime.
Cody Deloach writes: "That's horrible. Hopefully the driver has a full recovery. And from Kalani Murphy-Jenkins: "This makes me angry. Thank God the driver will survive.
And there is some good news to report about Pawelkop. He is now out of the hospital. He tells 10 News that he appreciates the support he's received from Domino's and he wants the suspects caught. Over the phone he said, "These guys don't belong on the streets."
And Tampa Police couldn't agree more. "Because it was so brazen, it leads us to believe that they've done it before and if they've done it before...they'll certainly do it again," said Davis.
Crime Stoppers is also offering $1,000 for information on the shooting and you can remain anonymous.
