TAMPA, Florida -- Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies have issued a warrant for a man who allegedly shot another man during an argument.
The suspect, 34-year-old Jose Aviles Maldonado, approached the victim at approximately 4:50 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the corner of 139th Ave. and 15th Street, according to deputies.
The two reportedly engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical fight. That's when deputies say Maldonado exited his car and shot the victim twice, striking him once in the right arm and once in the abdomen area.
Maldonado fled the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Maldonado is described as a Hispanic male, 5-9 - 5'11", approximately 170 lbs, with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray sweat shirt, unknown color shorts, and a hat.
