Tampa, Florida -- Pope Francis is a Jesuit priest, and naturally that's big news for the teachers and students at Tampa's Jesuit High School.
Wednesday's election inspired a special service at the Catholic school Thursday morning.
Francis is the first pope to come from the order of Catholic priests known for poverty and charity, the Jesuits. That fact led this normally solemn student body to start its day with a roar of applause.
A recent survey showed one-in-three young Americans doesn't identify with any religion. Leaders of Thursday's special service say like Pope John Paul II, the new Pope Francis's style and character will will help reverse that trend.
