Tampa, Florida -- Florida Highway Patrol says a four year is listed in serious condition at Tampa General Hospital after being ejected from a 2001 Chevy pick up truck driven by 32-year-old Osbaldo Cruz of Lakeland.

Troopers say Cruz's tire blew out causing him to lose control and overturn several times.

It happened around noon in the eastbound lanes of I-4 east of McIntosh Road.

Cruz and his passenger, 31-year-old, Hilaria Perez were both wearing their seatbelts but investigators say four year old Yahel Cruz was not, "properly restrained."

Cruz and Perez suffered minor injuries. There was also a one-year-old, 9-year-old and 12-year-old in the vehicle. They are all expected to be okay after suffering minor injuries.

Traffic slowed down to a crawl in the area and was backed up for miles.
