Update: New Port Richey Police say Shelbie Thomas has been found safe.  Police tell 10 News Shelbie was found in a Hudson liquor store and taken to a hospital for evaluation.

New Port Richey, Florida -- The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has issued a Florida Missing Child Alert for Shelbie Thomas, 17, last seen in New Port Richey, Florida.  

According to police, Shelbie left a note on Friday, March 15, saying "Don't worry, soon I will be with my mother," who was reportedly shot and killed a couple of years ago. 

The note has raised concerns that the teen is suicidal. 

Officials describe Shelbie as follows: 

• White female
• 5'0" tall
• 115 pounds
• Brown hair
• Brown eyes
• Last seen wearing a black Gulf High School basketball hooded sweatshirt (number 32), plaid pajama bottoms, and a knit Nike cap.

Theu say Shelbie was last seen near the 6400 block of Meadowbrook Lane in New Port Richey.
