Tampa, FL- The Tampa Bay Lightning announced they have traded rookie winger Cory Conacher and a 4th round draft choice, to Ottawa for goaltender Ben Bishop.
Bishop is 26 years old, a former draft pick of the St. Louis Blues, and currently the third goaltender for the Ottawa Senators. He's also 6'7".
"I am extremely excited to be part of the Lightning organization," Bishop said. "They have a lot of great players and hopefully we can win a lot of hockey games this season and moving forward."
Clearly, the Lightning are not pleased with their own goalie tandem of Anders Lindback and Mathieu Garon.
Conacher is currently the second-leading scorer among NHL rookies, with 9 goals and 15 assists. He's been a steady contributor since the beginning of the season, and the MVP in the AHL last season
