Bartow, Florida - Megan Michelle Jones, 31, will have some time to think about the charges against her. A Bartow judge refused to set bond on a kidnapping charge Wednesday afternoon.

"At the end of the day, all's well that ends well," says Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. "The baby was not kidnapped, the family is safe, they weren't hurt and Megan Jones -- a bad, bad, girl -- is in jail where she needs to be."

Judd says quick action by the Meyers family and their 8-year-old daughter Jayden saved 16-month-old Jordyn from being kidnapped early Saturday morning.

Judd says, "[Jones] broke into the house in the middle of the night, crashed through front glass window, injured herself. She was over the baby when the kids hollered, 'Get off her!' She had picked the baby up."

Mother Jennie Meyers tearfully recalls, "[Jordyn] had blood all over her from the lady touching her."

Jennie and Dennis Meyers were sleeping when they heard their older daughter Jayden. "I screamed," says Jayden.

Jennie says, "I never heard her scream like that and never want to hear it again."

At first, the couple thought they had a burglar. Instead they find Jones holding their baby girl.

"My husband drags her out by the neck," describes Jennie.

Jones reportedly said as she was being dragged out, "It's not what you think."

The family has installed an alarm system and security cameras. Dennis plans on getting a concealed weapons permit in case there's a next time.

Dennis say, "I wouldn't hesitate. I'd shoot."

As for Jones, her motivation that night is a mystery. Judd says, "We asked her why, and she had no explanation for that. But we know she said she had been drinking, using drugs and broke into the house."

Judd says Jones was not alone that night. The Meyers describe seeing a white man with brown hair outside their home. Deputies have not identified him yet and are asking for the public's help.

Deputies say Jones is no stranger to jail, she's been arrested eight times and at the time of this arrest, Jones was out of jail on a work release program.

As for the Meyers family, they are happy everyone is safe and they can look forward to the birth of their son in July.
