Haines City, Florida -- A Haines City teacher was busted for marijuana possession over the weekend during a traffic stop.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says Donna Dennard was pulled over after she failed to stop at a stop sign at Shamrock Drive East and Highway 92 around 9 p.m. Saturday.

As the deputy was talking with Dennard, he smelled what he thought was marijuana coming from inside the car. When he asked if he could search the car, Dennard reportedly became nervous and admitted she had a bag of pot in the car.

During a search, the deputy found three separate bags of marijuana inside the car weighing nearly 20 grams total.

Dennard, 36, a teacher at Daniel Jenkins Academy, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of paraphernalia.
