ANNA MARIA ISLAND, Florida -- The Coast Guard and the Manatee County Sheriff's Office have continued the search for a 6-year-old, Lamontea Taylor, who went missing while swimming near Longboat Pass.
Officials say the child was swimming with his three cousins when they got caught in a strong current. The cousins were reportedly rescued, but Taylor remains missing.
The search area includes Bradenton Beach to Whitney Beach, encompassing both the Gulf and Intracoastal Waterway sides of Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key.
"We are doing everything in our power to reunite this child with his family," says Petty Officer 2nd Class Jordan Waters.
