TOWN 'N COUNTRY, Florida -- A man was tasered and taken into custody Monday after trying to gouge out the eyes of a deputy trying to arrest him for robbery.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says a man flagged down the deputy to say he'd just been robbed by gunpoint by a man on a bicycle. The deputy spotted the suspect, Lamont Graddy, and chased him. Graddy allegedy struck the deputy with his fists and tried to gouge his eyes out with his thumbs.
Graddy reportedly continued to struggle as backup arrived. The sheriff's office says he was eventually tasered by two deputies and taken into custody.
Graddy is charged with armed robbery, resisting arrest, battery on a law enforcement officer, carrying a concealed firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
