Palm Harbor, Florida -- A 13-year-old girl hid and called for help when she realized her home was being robbed.
According to reports, William Wilson, a career criminal, went to a home on Arcadia Drive and when no one answered the door bell, he began to rob the house. Wilson pried open the kitchen window of the residence and filled his duffel bag with coins, video games and jewelry.
What Wilson did not know was that there was a 13-year-old girl who was home and saw him stealing. She hid in her bedroom closet and called her mom, who in turn called 911.
When deputies arrived on scene Wilson was still in the home and fled out the back door when deputies entered the house. A witness directed the deputies to another home where Wilson was hiding and he was arrested.
Wilson was on a conditional release after serving 20 of a 30 year sentence for armed burglary.
