Tampa, Florida -- Mayor Bob Buckhorn is kicking off a new endeavor he says "will help provide the foundation for a great city".
The City of Tampa is now accepting applications for the inaugural class of Mayor Bob Buckhorn's Neighborhood University.
During the 12-week course, participants will learn skills to help establish and maintain successful neighborhood organizations as well as experience the City Administration on a whole new level.
" My commitment to our neighborhoods extends to growing the next generation of neighborhood leaders so that they can continue the progress we have made," said Mayor Bob Buckhorn. "It is our hope that through the Neighborhood University, we will be able to help both current and future neighborhood presidents on whom we rely on to be the eyes, ears and voice back to us."
This inaugural class, which will begin in early Fall 2013, is limited in space and is open to anyone the community. The application is due on Friday July 26, 2013 by 5:00 p.m.
