East Lothian, Scotland (Sports Network) - A year ago, Adam Scott bogeyed the final four holes to lose the Open Championship to Ernie Els.

On this Sunday, Scott birdied four of five holes from the seventh to grab the lead early on the back nine. The Masters champion is 2-under par for his round after 12 holes and stands at minus-2 for the championship.

Overnight leader Lee Westwood dropped shots at seven and eight to dip back to minus-1. He has parred his next three holes and was joined at 1-under par by Phil Mickelson, who is 3-under par through 14 holes on Sunday.

Former Masters champion Zach Johnson is minus-1 for the day and even-par for the championship. He is alone in fourth place.

Poulter is in the clubhouse at 1-over-par 285. He stands alongside Henrik Stenson and Hunter Mahan. Stenson is even-par through 13 and Mahan is 2-over through 11.

Three-time champion Tiger Woods has five bogeys and two birdies through 12 and has fallen to plus-2 for the championship.

Jason Dufner was the first to post 4-under 67. The American finished the championship at plus-8. Ernie Els, the 2002 and 2012 champion, closed with a 74 to end alongside Dufner at 8-over 292.
