St. Petersburg, Florida -- The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired relief pitcher Jesse Crain from the Chicago White Sox.
The Rays gave up players to be named later, or cash considerations. That could depend on how much Crain pitches in the last two months of the season.
The right-hander Crain is 32 years old, and made his first All-Star team this season. He has a 0.74 ERA this season, with 46 strikeouts in 38 appearances.
But he will remain on the disabled list. Crain hasn't pitched since June 29 with a right shoulder strain.
And there's no word when he'll be healthy enough to pitch again.
