CBS Sports football analysts Dan Marino and Rich Gannon, weighed in on Bucs' quarterback Josh Freeman.

Freeman has completed just 6 of 10 passes for 42 yards, in parts of 2 preseason games.  He's been sacked 4 times.

Hall of Fame quarterback Fran Tarkenton, blasted Freeman this week in a radio interview, calling him "God-awful."

Marino and Gannon were a bit more even-handed in their analysis.  Gannon said an offensive coordinator told him a few years ago, that Freeman reminded him of a young Ben Roethlisberger.

"The way he used that left arm to shed tacklers, looked like Ben," said Gannon.  "He's big and strong, can use his legs to get out of the pocket, I'd like to see him run a little more... I'd like to see him do that."

Dan Marino admitted Freeman needs to work on his consistency.

"As far as his physical skills are concerned, he's got all the physical skills you need to be one of the best in the league," said Marino.   "It's just a matter of continuing to work on that."
