Bristol-Myers Squibb's new North America Capability Center will be located at 5104 Eisenhower Boulevard South in Tampa.
Tampa, Florida -- After announcing plans in July to bring over 570 highly skilled jobs to the Tampa Bay area, Bristol-Myers Squibb announced Wednesday the global biopharmaceutical company has reached an agreement to lease space in northwest Hillsborough County.
The company reached an agreement with TIER REIT on 70,000 square feet office space at 5104 Eisenhower Boulevard South for its new North America Capability Center. The 10-year agreement also includes a company option to lease an additional 60,000 square feet.
Of the 579 jobs that will be filled, about 250 of them will consist of knowledge works in information technology, marketing services, business and finance services, and other functions supporting the company's biopharmaceutical business in the United States will occupy the center when it opens in January.
"We are seeking people in the Tampa area who are looking for an opportunity to change lives, including their own," said Gareth Morgan, senior vice president of Bristol-Myers Squibb, in a release. "At our Tampa facility, we will build a culture of innovation and continuous improvement from the ground up. Our Tampa workers will be challenged to identify and implement new ideas and approaches that will help our company compete in an increasingly complex and competitive industry."
Most positions at the center will be filled by people living in the Tampa Bay area. The company will soon begin posting Tampa positions at www.bms.com/careers and will continue to post additional positions throughout the year.
The company expects to complete the initial round of staffing by the end of December.
