Orlando, Florida (CNN) -- A deputy with the Orange County Sheriff's Department likes to spend some of his off-duty time hunting alligators.
Jason Forgey and his friends came across one massive gator in Seminole County last month. They were out on the water for hours. Forgey says it took two encounters to catch the alligator.
When Forgey and his friends finally captured it, they took some pretty amazing pictures: a gator that was 13 feet long and weighing 737 pounds!
"It was different from all the other hunts, just 'cause he was the largest one I've ever caught," says Deputy Forgey. "They do need to be regulated. They do need to be harvested... no different than any other animal there is out there."
This isn't the first time Deputy Forgey made some headlines. He was also one of the police investigators to testify in Casey Anthony's murder trial back in 2011.
