SARASOTA CO., Florida -- Several roads in Sarasota County are currently closed due to flooding or standing water, according to the Sarasota Co. Sheriff's Office.

In Siesta Key, 948 Beach Road northbound and southbound is blocked with barricades south to Station 13.

W. Colonial/Tamiami Trail in Nokomis also needs barricades, along with Heron Road/Mangrove Road in Venice, and Elm/Indiana in Englewood.

The sheriff's office wants to remind motorists to avoid areas prone to flooding, and if they encounter standing water, do not attempt to drive through it.
