St. Petersburg, Florida -- The doors of the St. Petersburg Pier have been closed for months, but could it actually reopen as another inverted pyramid? Designers at Mesh Architecture say they envision a $46 million renovated pyramid that would be half of its current size.
According to their website, the new pier would be half of the width of the existing one, with trolley lanes in the center and pedestrian walkways on both sides. There would also be a continuous solar canopy on the south side, lined with solar panels.
