Pasco County, Florida-- Southbound lanes on I-75 near mile marker 284 are closed after multiple car accidents in the area Thursday night.
According to Pasco County Sheriff's deputies, a Pasco K9 unit responded to a severe crash that involved a vehicle rollover, and required a Bayflight transport to the hospital, when his vehicle was then hit.
The patrol car is said to have minor damage, and neither the deputy nor the K9 were injured.
No additional information on the other crash has been released at this time.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area. Officials say traffic is backed up past State Road 52, where they are diverting southbound I-75 traffic.
A third and separate crash on southbound I-75 Thursday reportedly involved at least one fatality.
Deputies say one of the accidents involved at least eight cars near the I-75 State Road 52 overpass.
