Florida is one step closer to getting a medical marijuana amendment on the November ballot.
The group United for Care emailed 10 News Wednesday night with the announcement.
"I believe we have collected the petitions we need to get on the ballot," the email began.
In total, the group reports a collection of over 1.1 million signatures.
"This could not have happened without the amazing
generosity of our thousands of donors - and in particular, our Chairman, John
Morgan, who donated millions to this endeavor."

The state Division of Elections has until February first to verify the signatures. The Florida Supreme Court then becomes their next hurdle, but the group plans to continue with strong efforts.
Plans to launch a campaign to educate Florida voters who they hope will "be allowed to have a choice in November", have the group seeking additional volunteers and contributors.
