St. Petersburg, Florida-- Thousands of people lined the streets in downtown St. Petersburg from Tropicana Field to Vinoy Park to celebrate the Martin Luther King Junior Parade.

"My daughter is five-years-old and she is in it this year!" said mother of three Senika Moncrieffe.

"This year's parade is exceptionally special because we are celebrating Dr. King's contemporary civil rights movement on America, and to know that students are still wanting to know about the single most important man, who almost single handedly dismounted the walls of segregation in America, that means a whole lot to me," said Sevell Brown III who is the founder of the 29th annual National Drum Major for Justice Parade.

Marching bands from school across the south eastern United States marched and danced for two-and a-half miles. People from the Tampa Bay area, Daytona Beach, Augusta, Georiga, Miami, Winter Haven, and Palm Beach attended and watched the 125 entries in the parade.

Some patrons blasted their faith's music, while other faithful groups held up signs energized the crowds.

This celebration also marks the 50th year since Martin Luther King Junior's "I Have a Dream" speech at the March on Washington.

There were about 100,000 people along the parade route.  This parade continues to be the largest in the south eastern United States.
