Holiday, Florida - The doctor who the Pasco County Sheriff's Office calls a "person of interest" in a shooting at a chiropractor's office was questioned and released Monday evening.

10 News was there when Dr. Lenny Linardos arrived at his Tarpon Springs home on Bayshore Drive Monday evening.

Attorney Cimos Angelis would not allow us to speak to his client, but told us that they are cooperating with the investigation at West Coast Spine and Injury Center this morning.

"I can tell you that there was nothing on the part of Mr. Linardos ... Dr. Linardos, that was criminal," said Angelis.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said that Jamie Velez arrived at Lindardos' office on U.S. 19 in Holiday at around 11 a.m.

According to a nurse who was in the building at the time but in another room, Velez and Linardos got into some type of confrontation before she heard several shots.

Initially, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office would not say if Linardos was the shooter.

When asked if his client was attacked in any way, Angelis responded, "I really can't go into the details of things. I'm sure that law enforcement will be making an announcement soon enough."

The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.

"We believe Jaime Velez and Dr. Lenny Linardos were involved in some type of domestic dispute and Velez arrived to the office yesterday [Monday] morning armed with a gun," said the sheriff's office. "A confrontation ensued between the two men and Linardos, who was also armed, fired his weapon injuring Velez."

Velez and Linardos are listed as friends on Facebook. In a picture of Velez with his pregnant girlfriend, Stacey Gillis, posted on Jan 19, the caption reads, "Time 2 be a right man.... No more games, lies, & deceit.... Family first"

At around 6 o'clock this morning, Linardo commented in a photo by writing, "Haha, you just lied."

Five hours later, Velez was being rushed to the hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds. He remains in critical condition Tuesday.
