Tampa, Florida -- Lightning center Steven Stamkos is leaning toward a return to the ice on Mar. 6, a Thursday home game with Buffalo.
After speaking to reporters at this morning's practice, Stamkos and head coach Jon Cooper were optimistic the center could play this Thursday, Feb. 27, at Nashville.
This afternoon, although the latest X-ray was positive, Stamkos still was not cleared to play. So, it's looking more like Thursday, Mar. 6 against Buffalo, the beginning of the next homestand.
