Crack principal negotiating plea deal

Tampa, Florida - The middle school principal arrested for allegedly buying crack cocaine from an undercover officer in his school office is negotiating a plea deal with the state. Giancola was arrested in February at Van Buren Middle School.

Giancola appeared in Hillsborough County court Wednesday. Giancola’s attorney says he doesn't think the case will go to trial.

The 40-year-old is charged with purchasing and possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. Until his arrest, Giancola had a good reputation and performance record. He was also well liked and respected by parents and students.
