St. Petersburg, Florida - Tomorrow starts the Tampa Bay 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk. People will walk 60 miles around Pinellas County to help raise awareness and money in the fight against breast cancer.
Each walker has had to raise $2,200 in order for them to participate. Among the walkers, 10-News Anchors Heather Van Nest and Reginald Roundtree.
This is the 3rd year the event has taken place in the Bay Area. Organizers aren't releasing the number of how many volunteers and walkers are taking part this year, but we know last year, there were more than 1700 walkers, and 325 crews and volunteers. The organizers hope to have more people participate this year.
The final amount of money raised will not be announced until after the walk is over. Last year, the event raised more than $4.6 million. They hope to do better this year.
