Tallahassee, Florida - The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is changing office hours statewide.
Beginning September 2, the offices will close an hour earlier at 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Officials with the DMV say that few customers come after 5:00 p.m. and the new schedule will allow employees to have a standardized schedule and allow them to hook up with co-workers and carpool.
In Tampa, one office will remain open on Saturdays. The location at 4100 West M.L. King Jr. Boulevard will have Saturday hours from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
DHSMV also encourages customers to skip the trip and use online services www.GoRenew.com
Customers can renew their driver licenses, identifications cards, vehicle tags and change their addresses online.
